Our Mission & Vision

Bardoli Global (BG) is a social enterprise dedicated to empowering historically underserved student leaders of color to embark on life-changing international exchange and study abroad programs.

We know that global exposure is critical to creating leaders able to compete in the global economy; yet, just one percent (1%) of all U.S. students study abroad. Statistics for minority and low-income students who study abroad as equally are appalling.  According to the Institute for International Education’s 2006 Open Doors report and the National Center for Education Statistics, African-American students comprise 14% of postsecondary student enrollment but only 3.4% of study abroad participants.  This rate, as well as participation of Hispanic and American Indian students in study abroad has remained stagnant over the last decade.  Given the importance of study abroad and diversity to American national security and economic competitiveness, it is time for a change.

BG’s core innovation, the “opportunity brokerage” concept, addresses each of the barriers that prevent minority students from accessing study abroad opportunities by:

- Alleviating the cost barrier through scholarships with leading study abroad providers
- Providing comprehensive support services students and partners
- Placing study abroad in the context of a formative leadership development program

Through these opportunities, we can attract outstanding students to create a network of like-minded leaders who befriend and support each other.

Over the next three years, Bardoli Global’s national expansion plan will significantly grow our movement to ten major U.S. urban centers from coast-to-coast and directly serve more than 1,000 students annually.

Through our focused efforts with corporate, academic, and community partners Bardoli Global’s alumni are destined to be become America’s future change- makers, Nobel Laureates, global CEOs, and doctors without borders.
